DCSD now accepting nominations for Hall of Fame Class of 2025

DARLINGTON, S.C. – The nomination period for Darlington County School District’s (DCSD) Hall of Fame Class of 2025 is now open through Oct. 1, 2024.

The DCSD Hall of Fame recognizes the exceptional achievements and the profound impact made by DCSD alums in diverse areas such as academia and education, arts, athletics, business, media, public service, philanthropy, medicine, military, or science, as well as former employees who have enriched our community and played a vital role in the success of students during their tenure at DCSD.

The 2023-24 DCSD Hall of Fame honorees were Sgt. Major (ret) Connell Delaine, former student and member of the Darlington County Board of Education; Dr. Rainey Knight, former principal and superintendent; Dr. Allen McCutchen, former principal and member of the Darlington County Board of Education; Mrs. Jean Taylor, former student, teacher and principal; and Mrs. Lina Pearson, former teacher. 

Alumni of DCSD schools become eligible seven (7) years after they graduate from a DCSD high school. Former DCSD employees and former DCSD school board members become eligible for induction two (2) years after their employment with the district or service on the Darlington County Board of Education has ended. Current elected officials (i.e., city council members, legislators, and other political office holders) are ineligible for consideration. However, former elected officials may be nominated if they have

graduated from or worked in DCSD, meeting either criterion above.
