Cypress Adventures, Inc. - Gearing Up for Spring Adventures
March 18, 2025Gearing Up for Spring Adventures The tents we've been using since 2017 have finally disintegrated to the point of no return. They served us well. They were low cost, low quality tents that we purchased in a pinch with funds raised by students back in 2017. I'm actually surprised they lasted as long as they did. After 22 camping trips, the zippers have busted beyond repair, poles are broken, a few have holes from material disintegration and no part of these tents are water repellant anymore.
It's time for an upgrade.Camping is our students #1 most favorite thing we do. We've introduce over 180 young people to camping with an easy overnight trip in Leadership 101. We want to expand our outdoor adventure offering to include a two-night camping trip for the Leadership 201 course and several multi-day backpacking and canoeing trips in the summer months.
Research shows that extended time in nature increases creativity, problem solving and focus while decreasing stress and anxiety. For the type of backpacking and camping we will be doing, we need lightweight, high quality, 3-season tents that can endure the heavy usage.
Will you help us raise $2,500
so we can purchase tents to meet our needs?
We don't need just any old tent. We are seeking funds to outfit our Youth Leadership Program with very specific, lightweight, 3-season tents to expand our outdoor adventures with multi-night treks into the wild.
