DCSD, Coker University again offering ArtSummer Intensive Program
January 31, 2025DCSD, Coker University again offering ArtSummer Intensive Program
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Darlington County School District (DCSD) students with a passion for the arts have an exciting opportunity to immerse themselves in their chosen artistic discipline on a university campus this summer. Through a partnership with Coker University’s P.L. and Belle Wolf McCall School of Visual and Performing Arts, DCSD’s ArtSummer Intensive program will take place on the university’s campus for three weeks in June.
The ArtSummer Intensive program is designed for students who want to explore and develop their talents in visual arts, media arts - animation, dance, theater, instrumental music, and vocal music. This immersive experience will provide students with professional instruction, hands-on practice, and opportunities for creative expression in college-level arts classrooms.
The program is open to all DCSD students who are rising sixth graders through current 12th graders. During the three-week intensive, students will be encouraged to showcase their dedication and creativity, take artistic risks, and refine their skills in their chosen discipline.
ArtSummer Intensive will run from June 9 - 27, Monday through Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To ensure accessibility, shuttle transportation will be provided from a central location for students residing in Darlington, Lamar, and Society Hill. Students from Hartsville will need to provide their own transportation.
Applications for the program will be accepted online from Feb. 3 through March 3. Interested parents and students can get more information and apply by visiting the following link: https://bit.ly/4gjgvkRChristopher McKagenCommunications Manager
